| Over/under Gallery |
Peter
has been shooting over/under for years now, but in 2009, he made some
spectacular new shots. His shot of a toot (Podiceps cristatus) on its
nest in a canal in The Hague, with a streetcar passing in the background,
is unique. Under water, the structure of the nest of the bird and plants
are clearly visible. Unlike topside photographers, an underwater photographer
needs to be at a very close range. A telelens just does not work.
That picture, and more over/under shots by Peter were featured in the October issue of National Geographic. You can view the article as a PDF-file by clicking the link below. |

| Exposition Ocean Sensation |
Peter's
exposition in the Muzee in Scheveningen has been extended until January
10th, 2010. It got a tremendous amount of exposure in the Dutch and foreign
press. One of the articles Peter liked best, was one in De Telegraaf,
a newspaper with a circulation of 800,000 copies daily, more than any
other Dutch newspaper. Even though the picture of a curious turtle covered
half a page, the text was short, but very poetic and flattering. We
just loved it! To our surprise, De Telegraaf even published not one,
but two articles about Ocean Sensation! You can view the first article
s a PDF-file by clicking the link below. In february, Ocean Sensation even travelled to the Duikvaker, the largest Dutch dive fair, where it was seen by 15.000 people. |

| Super Seychelles |
When
South African organisation Great Plains invited Peter to their fabulous
islands Alphonse and Desroches to take pictures for their website/brochures,
we travelled to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of
East-Africa. Around the islands, we encountered the clearest waters
ever. Many travel brochures promise endless visibility, but here we actually found it! Alphonse is a wonderful place that takes you back to former times with its old coconut plantation and tranquil atmosphere. It is close to the atoll of St. Francois with its world-famous flyfishing opportunities. Alphonse Island Resort is currently being refurbished, and will be open to visitors again in 2010. There is a wonderful fringing reef, with some world-class divespots. Desroches is different from Alphonse and much larger, with a fully functional, sophisticated resort and spa, great beaches, an old plantation and great dive spots and wonderful underwater caves. We received a warm welcome on both locations, and met a lot of wonderful people. Thanks to you all, for creating so many opportunities for taking wonderful pictures! |
